Multiplicity dependence of f$$_{\textbf{0}}$$(980) production in pp collisions at $$\mathbf {\sqrt{s}}=$$ 13 TeV

Abstract The dependence of $$\textrm{f}_{0}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msub> <mml:mtext>f</mml:mtext> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:msub> </mml:math> (980) production on the final-state charged-particle multiplicity is reported for proton–proton (pp) collisions at the centre-of-mass energy, $$\sqrt{s}=$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:msqrt> <mml:mi>s</mml:mi> </mml:msqrt> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> 13 TeV. These particle ratios are compared with calculations from the canonical statistical thermal model as a function of charged-particle multiplicity. The thermal model calculations provide a better description of the decreasing trend of particle ratios when no strange or antistrange quark composition for f $$_{0}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org
