A High-accuracy and High-throughput Bio-impedance Measurement IC with Phase-locked Sampling for Real-time Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy

Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a technique for measuring and analyzing electrical impedance over a frequency range. By covering a wider range, it enables more precise and informative bioZ analysis [1], [2]. To support real-time EIS applications, such as gesture recognition [3] and muscle fatigue monitoring [4], the EIS IC should support a high output data rate (ODR) and magnitude/phase measurement accuracy with a wide frequency range. However, conventional readout front-end (RFE) structures are unsuitable for these applications.
