New Records of Telamoptilia Kumata and Kuroko (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae: Acrocercopinae) from the USA, with the Description of a New Species

The two species of Telamoptilia Kumata and Kuroko (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) known from the USA are discussed. Both are leafminers of Malvaceae. New state and host records for T. hibiscivora D. and M. Davis, 2017 are provided based on reared specimens and photographed leaf mines, extending the known distribution northward to Massachusetts. Telamoptilia malvavisci Eiseman, new species is described from a single specimen reared from Malvaviscus arboreus Dill. ex Cav. in southern Texas.
