Assessment of the Cumulative Effect of Climatic Factors on the Linear Increment of Trees in Different Types of Model Pine Forests

The sensitivity of Pinus sylvestris L., 1753 linear increment series to precipitation and temperature of the current and preceding growing seasons depending on growing conditions has been analyzed using model tree stands. It has been revealed that under conditions far from optimal ones, the sensitivity of increments to changes in temperature and precipitation is highest, and the resulting indexed increment series allow determining required climatic signals. It has been found that in optimal growing conditions, the increments do not show significant responses to the impact of the considered climatic factors. The study has revealed that when assessing the climate change impact on natural ecosystems, the nature of the studied habitats and forest types should be taken into account. The most representative increment indicators are the ones of pine forests from pessimal habitats and the species range boundaries.
