Printed antenna arrays with Heat-Spreader for Wi-Fi 6 MIMO Application

This paper proposes a 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi MIMO antenna that features good isolation and wide directional pattern coverage on the xy-plane. The antenna consists of two elements sharing a common ground plane. A protruded strip placed between the antenna elements connects the shared ground, effectively enhancing isolation and enabling diverse radiation coverage in the horizontal plane. The isolation is improved from -17 dB to more than -24 dB at the 2.4 GHz band. Directional gain (DG) is used as a metric to evaluate the antenna’s diversity performance on the xy-plane.
