The AE-Pro-Vision project (2024-2025) - Creating an Action Plan for an Agroecological Baltic Sea Region Vision, aimed to establish a cooperative effort across Baltic Sea region (BSR) countries, engaging stakeholders from various sectors. The consortium consisted of academic, environmental, and farming organisations, catalysing collaborative action and innovation across sectors, national and cultural borders. Through mapping of diverse BSR stakeholders, including farmers, processors, retailers, researchers, policymakers, activists and consumers, the project sparked an inclusive dialogue on how to best develop a joint BSR vision for an agroecological transition. Here we present the project’s final results that outline a methodology for fruitful stakeholder engagement to set the ground for developing a joint BSR vision for an agroecological transformation of our food systems, shaping policies, research and practices for a resilient future. We first outline the overall methodological framework of the AE-Pro-Vision project (Section 2), with some more comprehensive description of the materials and methods used (Section 3), followed by the presentation of main results (Section 4) stemming from the literature review, stakeholder interviews, and stakeholder workshop, and rounding up with a synthesis (Section 5), and a proposed methodology for co-creating an agroecological vision (Section 6).
