Investigation of Boiling Heat Transfer Characteristics of MON-3 and MMH for Spacecraft Propulsion

Flow Boiling heat transfer characteristics in a horizontal narrow tube of MON-3 and Monomethyl hydrazine have been measured. MON-3 and Monomethylhydrazine (MMH) are used as a propellant for spacecraft propulsion. The critical heat transfer of MON-3 and MMH was identified under several flow parameters. By organizing the obtained data, it became possible to estimate the cooling rate of the propellant on the flow path wall inside the injector under a wide range of flow velocity conditions. This enables a more reliable design and evaluation of the engine’s thermal equilibrium state.
