Dyslexia is a learning disability which affects impairment in reading, writing, spelling capabilities; it particularly stems from phonological processing thus affecting word recognition and decoding. Even though dyslexia is not related to intelligence, dyslexic students often suffer academically and tend to resist conventional teaching methods due to certain challenges with limited vocabulary, slow phonological processing speed, working memory, poor hand-eye coordination which is then followed by a strong sense of self-doubt and frustration. Such students mostly require a personalized reading and learning environment which could be accessed as per their personal preference and convenience [22]. Hence, we at tempted to design an e-learning based web application ‘ReadEz’ to support personalized reading and learning for dyslexic individuals. The purpose of this prototype is to offer various features based on the personal preference of dyslexic students such as toggling between different colored themes, font styles, font spacing or font size. It has a reading mode feature which highlights the words in user defined colors that are mostly confusing for dyslexic children. It includes various interactive games that are useful for memorization and to get familiar with the words or use it as a learning tool. It has an integrated text to speech and speech to text model, a take note feature where students could take notes of important points and a whiteboard feature to improve their literary skills. It would save and track the user's progress on the leaderboard. Thus, the overall dyslexia-friendly design of the platform makes reading and writing more accessible and engaging for such individuals, which makes them feel more inclusive, thereby boosting their self-confidence.
