Abstract

This work presents a low-power ECG recording front-end that achieves tolerance to common-mode interference (CMI) without additional circuit overhead by employing a proposed internal capacitor flipping (ICF) technique. This technique inherently suppresses large CMI by reusing the input and feedback capacitors within a capacitively coupled delta-sigma modulator architecture. Fabricated in 180-nm CMOS, the front-end consumes 6μW, tolerates 60-Hz CMI up to 34 Vpp, and records ECG signals using two electrodes.
