Cloud-Based APIs are building block of enterprise modern applications, enabling interconnection of disparate services in an easy way. However, it is difficult to administer such APIs in a secure and efficient manner in high volume and multi-cloud environments. Current solutions sacrifice security, scalability and compliance leading to increased latency, security vulnerabilities and inefficient operating costs. This study proposes a new framework which leverages the advanced encryption (AES-256, TLS 1.3), token based authentication (OAuth2.0, JWT), dynamic resource allocation, load balancing, and monitoring to enable secure and scalable management of APIs. The study evaluates the proposed framework using an existing publicly available APIs data set and found the framework to be outperforming the existing platforms such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Kong Gateway as it has average latency of 45 ms, throughput of 1200 request/sec, Security Score of 0.95 and Compliance Score of 0.92. These results show the proposed framework is balanced in security, performance, and compliance in a comprehensive cloud API ecosystem.
