Design of an ICT-based Multimedia Platform for English Language Teaching in Higher Education

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into English Language Teaching (ELT) is transforming higher education via adaptive, data-driven platforms. This study presents an ICT-driven multimedia platform that integrates video lectures, interactive evaluations, pronunciation modules, and learner analytics to improve engagement. The Kaggle Learning Analytics Dataset for ELT comprised of $\mathbf{1, 2 0 0}$ student records, featuring parameters such as age (18-25 years), gender distribution (54% female, 46% male), native language composition ($35 \%$ English, $65 \%$ nonEnglish), weekly learning hours (3-12), attendance rates (60$100 \%$), assignment submission percentages ($40-95 \%$), forum engagement ($0-25$ posts), and academic performance metrics including quiz scores ($20-95$), final exam scores ($30-100$), and categorical performance classifications (Low, Medium, High). The target variables also included at-risk status ($1=$ at-risk, $0=$ not at-risk). The suggested platform, using supervised machine learning models, attained a maximum accuracy of $96.8 \%$, successfully forecasting performance outcomes and detecting atrisk learners. These findings highlight the pivotal significance of ICT-based multimedia systems in advancing inclusive and effective ELT in higher education.
