Dary Jana Motyki (1956–2024) dla Gabinetu Rycin w latach 1998–2022

The paper gives a brief characteristics of all donations made by Jan Motyka (an art historian, curator and collector) for the Print Room of the Scientific Library of the PAAS and the PAS in Cracow (until 1999 the Library of the PAS in Cracow) within the period 1998–2022. 74 individual prints, 28 drawings and 5 albums with a provenance reading “J. Motyka’s donation” were recorded. These are mainly works by Polish artists active after 1945 in Cracow. In 1994, at the donor’s instigation, a collection of modern prints and drawings was initialised within the Print Room. Since then, he would consistently obtain works from artists and after some time he started to supply the collection with works from his private resources. The paper is based on archival documents (of the Print Room of the PAAS and the PAS in Cracow), including monthly and yearly reports. Former and current lists have been verified compared with inventory records and records included in an electronic database WinISIS. The study did not cover J. Motyka’s collection of books.
