Factors affecting Effectiveness of Internal Audits in Addis Ababa; The Case of Lideta sub city Administration.

This paper aims at identify the factors affecting Effectiveness of Internal Audits in Addis Ababa. In the course of the study, the method employed in this research was descriptive and e survey. The study adopted descriptive and explanatory research design using both qualitative and quantitative approach of data analysis and presentation were applied. A total of 58 respondents were selected using systematic random sampling. The data collection was performed through questionnaires having close ended items which were prepared and distributed to the respondents. The result was presented using descriptive statistical like mean, standard deviation and variance was employed. Furthermore, inferential statistics like correlation and regression was applied. Furthermore descriptive and regression methods of data analysis was used to meet the objectives of the study. Based on the findings the factors affecting effectiveness of Internal Audits in Addis Ababa the research findings indicated that the eight factors such as; independence, competency, management support and availability of information technology resource, the approved internal audit charter, quality of internal audit, time of audit and scope of audit have influence on effectiveness of internal audit in public sectors.
