The article explores the problems of loneliness of the "digital man", traces the peculiarities of human existence in the era of digitalization. The relevance of loneliness as a condition contributing to the realization of individual development goals is shown. At the same time, attention is drawn to the negative consequences of loneliness, expressed in alienation and self-isolation from the realities of modern life. It is argued that digital addiction, which is the result of many social causes, expands the space of loneliness, minimizes the possibilities of real social communication, and has a negative impact on the socio-psychological and emotional well-being of individuals. It is emphasized that the real-virtual existence of a modern person creates objective conditions leading to loneliness, which is perceived by many as one of the most productive forms of existence. It is noted that the situation of loneliness is fraught with the formation of feelings of social uselessness and abandonment, which result in the emergence of risks of different content and ambiguity of the impact on thought processes and behavioral strategies. The author examines the inconsistency of meanings and connotations inherent in the nature of loneliness, leading to the appearance of illusory ideas about the world and the processes taking place in it. It shows how the loneliness of a "digital person" turns into a loss of feelings of authenticity of existence for him. It is emphasized that the orientation towards loneliness complicates the processes of socialization and adaptation to a rapidly changing socio-cultural context. Attention is drawn to the fact that loneliness and escapism are becoming a sought-after lifestyle for many.
