Early Validation of <scp>6G</scp> Concepts

This chapter presents the early validation of 6G concepts through proof-of-concept (PoC) implementations in the context of real-world use cases and along collaborative robot-powered industrial scenarios. Those implementations are focusing on key enablers such as advanced management and orchestration, AI-assisted service lifecycle management, intent-based networking, flexible network topologies, and beyond communication functions. The validation activities evaluate performance, as well as resilience and trustworthiness in the network, but also vertical domain operations. The chapter highlights how 6G can enhance automation, intelligence, and adaptability in industrial environments via specific applications, namely collaborative robot-powered warehouse inventory management and zero-touch cobot video-based surveillance. The insights gained from these validations shed light on critical aspects of the 6G system and especially its contribution potential in transforming businesses and society.
