Justification Companion to EMF-Scoring Model (IFID Project)

This technical companion establishes the evidentiary framework for the EMF-Scoring Model, providing a tri-axial classification of food ingredients based on Anthropogenic Energy (E), Matter State (M), and Functional Identity (F). It synthesizes chemical justification, FSSAI/Codex regulatory standards, and ITC-HS trade nomenclature to document the 'Identity Shift' that occurs during food processing. By mapping covalent molecular changes against statutory naming conventions, this report provides a high-rigour, defensible logic for food informatics systems. It specifically codifies the transition from primary commodities to complex additives, ensuring that scoring assignments—ranging from minimally processed cooling to synthetic chemical synthesis—are anchored in global trade classification and Indian food safety law rather than subjective interpretation.
