Design and implementation of unmanned aerial vehicle communication system based on Wi-Fi broadcast

This paper introduces a UAV communication system using Wi-Fi Broadcast to meet the low latency and high anti-interference needs of UAV image transmission. The system combines Forward Error Correction(FEC)technology and an embedded Linux platform to optimize data broadcasting. It builds a complete chain for video acquisition, encoding, transmission, and decoding. During implementation, key challenges such as Wi-Fi broadcast driver transplantation, FEC algorithm optimization, and video stream timestamp synchronization were addressed. Tests show that the system achieves a video transmission delay of less than 150ms and a packet loss rate of under 5% for 1080P video streams, significantly outperforming traditional Wi-Fi solutions. This high-reliability, low-cost system has practical value for applications in emergency communication and agricultural monitoring.
