In Brief Dr. Heather Tubbs-Cooley and her colleagues have been studying missed nursing care in the neonatal intensive care unit for the last several years. Our pediatric nursing expert, Dr. Beal, reviews the most recent publication from this team on the effects of objective and subjective measures of nursing workload, including nurse to patient ratios, on missed nursing care in the neonatal intensive care unit.
