Semi-circular rainwater and runoff micro-catchments for tree crops

This factsheet presents semi-circular (“half-moon”) rainwater and runoff micro-catchments for tree crops as a low-tech, nature-based solution. By capturing and infiltrating rainfall at the root zone, the system enhances soil moisture retention, reduces irrigation demand and salinity risks, and strengthens drought resilience in perennial orchard systems.
