The mental image of the toponym OLKHON ISLAND in the advertising tourism narrative

This study is conducted within the framework of the semantic-cognitive approach in cognitive linguistics, which focuses on investigating the relationship between semantic and cognitive processes. The research aims to determine the conceptual scope of the mental image of the toponym OLKHON ISLAND within advertising tourism narratives. The scientific novelty of the work stems from the representation of the toponym OLKHON ISLAND as a mental unit, as well as the fact that research of this nature has not previously been conducted on the material of tourism advertising narratives. The article provides a generalized analysis of the understanding of toponymic systems and mental images. The study establishes that the mental image of the toponym OLKHON ISLAND, as a form of mental representation in advertising tourism narratives, is determined by key interconnected concepts such as MOUNTAIN, WATER, NUMBER, SACREDNESS, HUMAN, SPACE, and TIME. Advertising tourism narratives that represent the mental image of the toponym OLKHON ISLAND reflect the national mentality, traditions, beliefs, customs, rituals, and cultural-historical contacts. It is emphasized that the semantic features of the attributive constructions within the conceptosphere of the toponym OLKHON ISLAND appeal to the realms of ethnic perception and mythological worldview.
