Archivos sin archiveros

Este artículo pretende reflejar y analizar el impacto y algunas de las consecuencias de la crisis económica entre 2007 y 2017, así como de la pandemia por COVID-19 en el campo de los archivos, y al tiempo, dar continuidad a ciertos planteamientos que allá por el año 2013 presentaba “Archiveros sin archivos”, rindiendo un pequeño homenaje a los “jornaleros del papel”, y planteando la necesidad de reflexionar y buscar soluciones sobre el acceso y el ejercicio de nuestra profesión. Se presentan 2 líneas de trabajo u objetivos: el primero orientado a reducir el abismo entre el ámbito formativo “académico” y el cada vez más agresivo mercado laboral, y el segundo enfocado a generar garantías y un marco de protección (colegiado o no) para los profesionales, que a su vez sea la base de un cambio que potencie y ponga en valor la figura del profesional de los archivos. This article seeks to examine and analyze both the impact and certain consequences of the economic crisis of the past decade, as well as those arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, within the field of Archives. At the same time, it aims to continue the reflections initiated in 2013 by “Archiveros sin archivos”, paying tribute to the so-called “day laborers of paper”, and emphasizing the need to engage in critical reflection and to develop solutions concerning access to, and the practice of, our profession. Two main lines of action or objectives are proposed: The first is directed towards narrowing the gap between the “academic” training environment and the increasingly demanding and competitive labor market. The second focuses on establishing safeguards and a framework of protection—whether through professional associations or alternative mechanisms—for archival professionals. Such a framework should serve as the foundation for a transformative process that enhances and reaffirms the value and recognition of the archival profession.
