Draft genome sequence of a <i>Bacillus cereus</i> isolated from a tilapia tank in Alberta, Canada

We present the 5.7-Mb draft genome sequence of <i>Bacillus cereus</i> RAS-11-1 isolated from a tilapia (<i>Oreochromis niloticus</i>) aquaponic tank primarily used for educational purposes in a high school in Alberta, Canada. The strain is predicted to carry <i>trpC</i> for the biosynthesis of plant growth hormone indole-3-acetic acid (IAA).
