ALL-ISLAND CANCER RESEARCH LANDSCAPE REPORT (2019-2024)

This report presents the first integrated all-island bibliometric landscape analysis of cancer research across Ireland and Northern Ireland (2019–2024), examining research output, citation impact, clinical trial activity, collaboration patterns, policy and patent influence, research domains and cancer site distribution. Based on 10,176 unique cancer publications, the analysis provides a data-driven evidence base to inform strategic cancer research planning across the island of Ireland. The findings align with European cancer policy frameworks including Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the Lancet Oncology European Groundshot Commission.
