Land at Pershore Road, Eckington, Worcestershire: a geophysical survey (magnetic)

An area of 1.9ha was surveyed using two cart-mounted Bartington Grad601-2 fluxgate gradiometers. A range of magnetic anomalies were detected by the survey, suggesting that the site has experienced several phases of use. A large number of parallel linear positive anomalies indicate ploughing while a series of linear positive anomalies on other orientations suggest previous field boundaries. An area of magnetic disturbance and scattered debris may indicate the presence of ditches infilled with thermoremnant remains or, conversely, a deposit of made ground.
