The subject of the research is the lexical means of expressing the concept of "praise". The main purpose is to identify and describe the cultural features of the lexical means of expressing the concept of "praise" in Russian and Uzbek. The article examines the examples of linguistic representation of the concept of "praise" in Russian and Uzbek, and provides cultural features that must be taken into account in terms of intercultural communication to establish friendly and conflict-free relations between representatives of the cultures. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that Russia and Uzbekistan currently have close political and economic relations. Uzbekistan is one of the main trading partners of the Russian Federation among the CIS countries, as well as a popular tourist destination for Russians. In this regard, there is a special need to study Uzbek culture, language and its national specifics. The research methodology includes an experiment (conducting questionnaires with representatives of the Russian and Uzbek linguistic cultures), measurement, and comparison. Russian and Uzbek linguistic cultures are surveyed in order to identify the peculiarities of the expression of the concept of "praise" in Russian and Uzbek languages. The similarities and differences in the attitudes of representatives of the compared linguistic cultures to the types of praise presented are revealed. A significant difference in the relevance of using certain ways of expressing the concept of "praise" in Russian and Uzbek linguistic cultures has been revealed. For example, in Uzbek culture, a positive assessment of committed deeds can be expressed using the lexeme "баракалла", which means "well done". This option was chosen by 95% of Uzbeks when answering the question "How would you praise the other person's act?. In Russian culture, however, only 33% of respondents noted this way of expressing praise as a result of a negative attitude towards evaluating the actions of the interlocutor. The scientific novelty of the study consists in describing the cultural features of the linguistic representation of the concept of "praise" in the Uzbek language, in a comparative analysis of the lexical representation of the concept of "praise" in Russian and Uzbek linguistic cultures. The results can be used in intercultural communication sphere, in stylistic courses, speech culture and communication culture.
