Medical care in the surgical department is a complex, multi-level process that includes the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various diseases. The Emergency Department at Samara City Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after N. I. Pirogov was opened in 1938. It consisted of two departments (6 and 7). The department provided emergency care to the city’s population 24 hours a day and served as a center for gastroduodenal bleeding.
