Southerners tend to be more religious than other U.S. adults – but less religious than they used to be

A look at religiousness in the U.S. by region (South, Midwest, Northeast and West) over time, showing that while people who live in the American South continue to be more religious, on average, than residents of other regions, levels of religiousness are at lower levels, in each part of the country, than they were in 2007.
