A ±60mA-Inaccuracy Low-Side Average Current Sensor with Operating-Conditions-Insensitive Control Supporting 0.1-to-3A Load Range and Sub-100ns Sample Time for Automotive USB Charge Application

In Paper 21.6, UESTC and SouthChip Semiconductor Technology present a low-side average current sensor for automotive USB charging, which supports 0.1-to-3A load range and sub100ns sample time with <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\pm 60 \text{mA}$</tex> inaccuracy. This is achieved by 1) an adaptive settling helper to reduce the settling delay, 2) a DC level-shift bias to improve the light-load current sense accuracy, and 3) an anti-duty resistor to suppress the drift of −3dB bandwidth.
