The influence of physical activity on the emotional well-being of psychology students

The aim of the study is to identify and analyze the attitudes of psychology students toward physical activity, as well as its role in normalizing their emotional state. Methodology and organization of research. A 25-question questionnaire was developed for the study, aimed at identifying the impact of physical activity on students' psycho-emotional state. The sample consisted of 180 full-time students at the Institute of Psychology. The data obtained were subjected to statistical and qualitative analysis. Study results and discussion. The results demonstrate a significant subjective positive impact of physical exercise on vоarious emotional components: respondents who exercise regularly report significant improvements in mood, reduced stress and anxiety, increased concentration, and improved academic performance. Regularity of exercise plays a significant role, as do gender preferences (men prefer strength training and team sports, while women prefer group pilates, yoga, and other fitness classes). Students cite the goal of getting credit as their main motivation for for exercising/physical activity, which may indicate a lack of awareness of the role of physical education in everyday activities. The results indicate a significant positive correlation between the frequency of exercise and indicators of emotional well-being, which requires finding ways to actively integrate physical activity into the daily activities of psychology students.
