Beyond 1.6Tbps transceivers: roadmap and enabling technologies

In recent years, HPC (High-Performance Computing), cloud computing, autonomous vehicles, generative AI, and other technologies have become deeply integrated into our daily lives, becoming indispensable for improving our quality of life. Consequently, the demand for data transmission in large-scale data centers and cloud servers has been increasing. Pluggable transceivers are mainly used for these applications. However, various technical challenges have arisen in the ultra-high-speed transmission. This paper reviews pluggable transceivers from a standardization perspective. And we introduce the technical challenges and proposes solutions to address them.
