Ultralow-noise stability and linewidth transfer across the O- and C-bands with commercial optical reference cavities and fiber frequency comb technology

We present results on stability transfer between two commercial ultra-stable optical references operating at O-band (1348 nm) and C-band (1542 nm) wavelengths measured using a commercial fiber frequency comb from Vescent Technologies. The ultra-stable laser systems are based on commercial Thorlabs low noise lasers, locked via the Pound-Drever-Hall technique to commercially available Thorlabs optical reference cavites comprised of crystalline mirrors and 12-cm ultra-low expansion glass cylindrical spacers. We measured a minimum Modified Allan Deviation of ~7E-16 at 0.1 s integration time and ~1E-15 at 1 s, as well as a frequency noise of ~1E-3 Hz^2/Hz at 100 Hz, between the O-band laser and the frequency comb while locked to the stabilized C-band laser. The optical linewidth at 1348 nm is estimated to be ~0.250 Hz linewidth. We demonstrate a commercial time and frequency architecture that can support 1E-15 fractional frequency linewidth and stability transfer for demanding applications across numerous fields including optical metrology and quantum computing.
