The rapid emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, especially ChatGPT, has sparked both anxiety and curiosity among educators worldwide. While the uncertainty surrounding the advancement of this technology causes concern, much interest also lies in AI's possible effects on student learning. Existing research often explores the pros and cons of ChatGPT and similar AI technologies, as well as the views of faculty and administrators concerning the impacts on higher education. However, there is a noticeable lack of studies that examine students' perspectives on how AI content truly impacts their educational experiences and learning outcomes. This chapter aims to present students' viewpoints on generative AI tools, specifically their impacts on learning outcomes, general coursework, writing assignments, cognitive knowledge, and critical thinking.
