Women empowerment plays a vital role in achieving sustainable community development and social progress. The present study highlights the impact of a community-based initiative conducted during the Third One-Day Camp organized by NSS Unit-II of ANDNNM Mahavidyalaya, Harshnagar in Baba Basti located in Kalyanpur, Kanpur, Kanpur, India. The objective of the camp was to promote awareness about women empowerment while encouraging the development of physical, psychological, and creative skills among children and community members. Various activities such as physical exercises, motivational sessions, and skill-based workshops including flower-making were organized to encourage participation and build confidence among women and children. The camp focused on enhancing self-confidence, creativity, and community participation. NSS volunteers guided children in learning simple craft skills such as flower-making using paper and other accessible materials. These activities were designed to improve fine motor skills, creativity, and psychological well-being. Simultaneously, discussions on the importance of women's education, health awareness, and economic independence were conducted to motivate women to actively participate in community development. The findings suggest that such community-based camps play an important role in creating awareness about women empowerment and skill development. Participants expressed enthusiasm in learning new skills and appreciated the opportunity to engage in educational and creative activities. The initiative also strengthened the relationship between educational institutions and local communities. The study concludes that short-term community camps can effectively promote empowerment, skill development, and social awareness among women and children. Encouraging such initiatives at the grassroots level can contribute to building a more confident, skilled, and empowered society.
