P510: Genetic counseling uptake and reasons for decline after receipt of positive CDCT1 test results in a population health setting

Genetic counseling (GC) helps patients understand and manage the medical, psychological and family implications of genetic conditions. Participants in the Helix Research Network (HRN) receive genetic screenings at no cost that can identify risks for the Centers for Disease Control Tier 1 (CDCT1) conditions, which include hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC), Lynch syndrome (LS), and familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). Each CDCT1 condition has guideline-backed interventions for prevention and early detection.
