Regression Modeling of the Distribution of Crimes Against Health: An Analysis of the Impact of Private Prosecution

The article examines the impact of private criminal prosecution on the statistics of crimes of harm to health. Regression analysis revealed a significant decrease in the registration of crimes of intentional infliction of minor harm to health (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) due to a private criminal prosecution procedure. Using cubic and quadratic approximations, the authors assessed the scale of crimes hidden from accounting and justified the inefficiency of the institution of private prosecution, suggesting areas for reform.
