Cyclic oxidation behavior of TiAlC MAX-phase coatings deposited by CHC-PVD on TiAl 48–2–2 at 850 °C

This dataset contains the raw and processed experimental data underlying the publication: “Cyclic oxidation behavior of Ti-Al-C MAX-phase coatings deposited by CHC-PVD on TiAl 48–2–2 at 850 °C”, published in Surface & Coatings Technology (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.surfcoat.2026.133356). The dataset includes data obtained from Closed Hollow Cathode Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process monitoring, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GDOES), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and cyclic oxidation test data. The files comprise raw microscopy data (.dm3, .emi), original SEM micrographs (.tif), elemental mapping exports (.pdf), and numerical datasets in plain text format (.txt) including GDOES depth profiles, XRD diffraction patterns and oxidation curves. The data provided here constitute the underlying research data used to generate the figures and quantitative results reported in the publication and enable verification, reproduction, and further analysis of the results. This dataset was generated within a project financed by the National Science Centre, Poland (NCN) and by the German Research Foundation (DFG) under grant agreement LA 4807/2-1, the HANACOAT project (2022/04/Y/ST5/00109) within the WEAVE-UNISONO programme.
