Abstract

The XeF2-PtF5 system was reinvestigated by exploring reactions in either anhydrous HF or at elevated temperatures. This approach enabled the structural characterization of four members of the system, namely [Xe2F3][PtF6]·XeF2(mC120), [Xe2F3][PtF6]·XeF2(oP120), [Xe2F3][PtF6], and [XeF][PtF6](mP108), by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction and low-temperature Raman spectroscopy.
