Integration of Aerial‐Aided Edge Technologies with Emerging Technologies

The combination of edge and aerial technologies with cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, distributed ledger systems, augmented reality (AR), and the Internet of Things (IoT) is reshaping entire industry sectors by improving efficiency, security, and data integrity. This work examines how real-time data gathering, processing, and decision-making at the source are made possible by the integration of edge computing with aerial platforms, such as drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The connectivity to IoT helps to improve aerial technology by providing enough space for prognostic data analysis that aids in smooth connection and automation. Augmented reality applications effectively increase the user participation in case of critical situations and assists users by creating awareness during disasters. Also, it supports farmers for monitoring and controlling the agricultural fields by superimposing the real-time data obtained from aerial devices. Distributed ledger and blockchain technologies enable data security by providing transparency and ensuring the records are not modifiable which concentrates on trust-building and regulatory compliance. This work focuses on the benefits of integrating these sophisticated technologies with aerial-aided edge computing by emphasizing significant use cases, challenges, and future scope.
