Designers and builders mistakes at facilities construction in dense urban areas

Facilities construction in particularly cramped urban environments requires specific approach from designers, geotechnicians and builders. Buildings and structures located in a zone of geotechnical influence must be reliably protected from possible deformations that may occur as a result a new facility construction by special geotechnical deepen structures. According to current regulatory documents, the organization and implementation of geotechnical deformations monitoring is also mandatory. The authors adduce a geotechnical case where disregard for regularity of geotechnical engineering leads to undesirable excess deformations of an cultural heritage object.
