Rapid Deployments for local earthquake swarms in Western Australia

At GSWA, we are responsible for recording and analysing local earthquake seismicity in Western Australia. Since 2021, several earthquake swarms have occurred (https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/ssa/srl/article/97/2A/805/724350/A-New-High-Resolution-Seismic-Catalog-for), with the most recent swarm started in February 2026 which has been active almost daily. GSWA has deployed six Güralp real-time systems to monitor these events. The current plan is to continue recording this swarm for approximately one year. The data are currently archived at AusPASS via real-time streams. This is expected to continue with coming years due to frequently occurrence of earthquake swarms in WA.
