Effect of Artificial Intelligence Awareness on Job Performance

As artificial intelligence spreads, it is critical to comprehend how job performance may be impacted by this technology. However, to our knowledge, there is no research dealing with both the mediating and moderating role of gender in the association between artificial intelligence awareness and job performance. Therefore, we try to fill this gap. We distributed 204 online questionnaires to Tunisian employees in the service sector. We performed explanatory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and bootstrapping. Our results found that artificial intelligence has a negative impact on job performance. However, gender has neither a mediating nor moderating effect on the relationship between artificial intelligence awareness and job performance. This implies that artificial intelligence awareness may influence job performance in similar ways for both men and women.
