Abstract Modern physics treats scale as objective hierarchy and time as fundamental coordinate—both observer-dependent artifacts of resolution. This paper unifies prior works (When Light Is Static, The Gap Is an Interface, Observation as Incremental Reconfiguration, There Never Was a Smallest Particle) into Resolution Theory: discreteness, locality, and temporal order emerge as resolution-stabilized events when continuous relational fields are sampled, compressed, recorded, and agreed upon at a chosen scale. The Wheeler–DeWitt equation (ĤΨ = 0) shows time underdetermined until relational decomposition imposed. The "gap" is the interface where wave descriptions become irreversible bookkeeping—itself a reification of the stabilization process it describes. Geometry/shape survives as invariant across perspective shifts (e.g., prairie sunset shadows, brain infill, mosquito vs. human scale). No new dynamics proposed; framework clarifies emergence of discreteness and offers practical tools (visualizers) to navigate resolution boundaries. Consciousness is the natural selector stabilizing meaning at human meso-scale. Description This conceptual framework reframes foundational discreteness in physics, perception, and computation as resolution artifacts rather than ontological bedrock. Particles, events, objects, and "nows" are not discovered fundamentals but declared stabilizations: continuous relational fields → irreversible shared bookkeeping via sampling, compression, recording, and inter-observer consensus. The "gap" is the structural transition/interface where this happens—shared by quantum measurement, atmospheric scattering (prairie sunsets), neural infill, and scale-dependent biology (mosquito vs. human perception). Consensus is the missing variable that turns infinite samplings into persistent "reality." The cost: information loss, irreversibility, entropy—the arrow of time at the E=mc² boundary. The gap risks reification (treating abstract relational act as concrete entity), but this is reflexive closure—the framework applies to itself. Everyday examples illustrate geometry as the stable invariant surviving resolution shifts. Practical implication: tools to directly navigate boundaries. Part of a series timestamping outsider intuition aligned with scale-dependent effective theories, renormalization, relational quantum gravity. Provisional patents pending on implementing resolution-stabilized agent lattices.
