Online gambling addiction is becoming a very significant issue in the United Kingdom, and is affecting the lives of millions of people. For most age demographics, over one third of respondents in the United Kingdom responded that they had gambled in the past 4 weeks. These gambling addictions affect everyone, specifically people aged 25-34 (highest in the last 4 weeks) and 45-64 (overall). We have created models that show disposable income based on certain demographics, the estimated win and loss percentage based on demographic and whether or not they chase (the act of trying to reduce loss by increasing bet size), and how this affects long-term savings in the household. It is essential to understand the devastating effects gambling can have on households. Our model determined this by taking the gross income of individuals and then subtracting expenditures from national insurance, income tax, and essentials to get an accurate disposable income for each demographic. Our model takes in account for age, household amount, income, and region by showing the different tax brackets for these parameters and how much money this removes, along with how age and household inhabitants affect essential expenditures, while also accounting for error.
