This repository provides the complete version of the JSMel dataset, including melody data for both public domain (PD) songs and non-public domain (non-PD) songs. The full dataset contains symbolic melody representations for 960 songs widely transmitted across generations in contemporary Japan. Each melody is represented by two symbolic sequence files: Pitch sequence file: note pitches encoded in ABC format with octave information Duration sequence file: note and rest durations expressed relative to a quarter note Because many songs in the dataset are still under copyright protection, the melody data for non-PD songs are not publicly accessible. Access to these restricted files is provided only for non-commercial academic research purposes under the following procedure: Researchers must complete and submit the Application Form provided in the Supplementary Materials of the associated article (see Publishing information). The application must describe: the research purpose, the intended use of the dataset, and the data management procedures. The application will be reviewed by the authors. If approved, the applicant must sign a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) specifying the conditions of use. After the MTA has been executed, restricted access to the dataset will be granted through this repository. The conditions of use prohibit redistribution of the data and sharing with third parties. Requests for access should be sent to the corresponding author listed in the associated publication.
