The Critical Effort Method™ (CEM) is a conceptual framework developed to analyse execution difficulty in project schedules. The method introduces effort-based indicators that complement traditional scheduling approaches such as the Critical Path Method (CPM). Instead of analysing projects only through time relationships, CEM focuses on the intensity and distribution of execution effort within project activities. The framework proposes four analytical indicators: ➤ Effort Index (EI)➤ Effort Density (ED)➤ Critical Effort Path (CEP)➤ Execution Pressure Index (EPI) Together, these indicators help planners and project control specialists identify effort concentration, execution pressure and potential schedule bottlenecks in complex project environments. This document presents the conceptual structure of the method together with the mathematical definitions of the proposed indicators. Authors: Dariusz Wołejszo & David WallachVersion: 1.0Year: 2026
