GLOBAL WARMING: THE REAL CAUSE A Scientific Examination of Evaporative Cooling Loss, Global Deforestation, and the Thermodynamic Role of Trees

Global warming is widely attributed to greenhouse gas accumulation, yet the thermodynamic role of evaporative cooling from forests has been significantly underestimated. This paper presents quantitative and qualitative research demonstrating that trees function as biological evaporative cooling systems, each capable of releasing approximately 100 gallons of water per day through transpiration. This process produces a cooling effect equivalent to seven residential window air-conditioning units, lowering local temperatures by 15–20°F. Field experiments conducted by Col. Mark Nightwolf Brown at the ECO Farm & Research Center confirm that forested environments exhibit substantial temperature reductions independent of shading effects. Global deforestation, urban sprawl, and megafires have collectively reduced the Earth’s evaporative cooling capacity, contributing to rising surface temperatures. This paper proposes a systems-level solution involving global reforestation, hemp-based industrial substitution, and earth-sheltered housing to restore planetary cooling mechanisms.
