Využitelnost rodu Cedrus v zahradní a krajinářské architektuře České republiky

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the use of cedar in garden and landscap architecture of the Czech Republic. The author focuses primarily on the reasons why cedars today are often poorly used and also on the possibilities and limits of their cultiva tion. Primarily, the data on cedars as such, which means their origin, cultivation requirements, etc. are analyzed. The author then analyzed the individual possibilities of using these trees. It has been analyzed how cedars have been grown historically and how they are grown today, the use of cedars in the Czech Republic has been compared with the use in foreign countries, etc. The basis of research on frost resistance, annual growth, the ratio of cultivated crops and the availability of individual cultivars within the Czech Republic has been contrasted with the current use of cedar. This information has revealed several problems that are largely related to the lack of public awareness of this genus. Thus, the Private Botanical Garden in Dubiny, in which many well-used cedars are already present, has been selected into the design part. A part of this territory, which is currently almost unused, has been proposed. Designed to keep current functional and compositional relation ships an d further develop the use of cedars in garden and landscaping architecture.
