Lexical analysis of a fragment from G. Yakhina’s novel “Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes” (section ‘Where to? On the Road’)

The article presents a detailed lexical analysis of the fragment “Where to? On the Road” from Guzel Yakhina’s novel Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes. The study identifies and systematizes the lexical-semantic fields reflecting the motifs of the road, fear, fate, and doom, as well as their role in creating the emotional and psychological space of the work. Special attention is paid to the expressive and metaphorical means of language that enhance the drama of the narrative and reveal the heroine’s inner world. The article demonstrates that language becomes a tool for artistic comprehension of historical memory and the emotional experience of the people.
