Research on key technologies of low earth orbit navigation augmentation for beidou rapid precise positioning

Abstract Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite navigation augmentation systems have emerged as a transformative technology for enhancing the performance of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). This study investigates the integration of LEO constellations with BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) to address the prolonged convergence time in Precise Point Positioning (PPP). A dedicated LEO-augmented BeiDou receiver and simulator system were developed to validate real-time positioning performance. Experimental results demonstrate that LEO augmentation significantly reduces PPP convergence time to under 1 minute and improves carrier phase observation accuracy. The hardware-centric approach provides practical insights for future LEO-enhanced navigation systems.
