Ferocactus glaucescens (DC), Britton & Rose: New Records for Nuevo León Mexico

Ferocactus glaucescens is a Mexican species described in 1922 by Britton & Rose. It was only known for the states of Hidalgo, Queretaro, Guanajuato and San Luiz Potosí. Explorations carried out in 1988 by the author located several wild populations of Ferocactus glaucescens in the states of Tamaulipas and Nuevo León. Although it was believed that some apparent sightings of this species had been made in Tamaulipas, there was no well-documented publication that reported and recorded this species for this northeast region of Mexico.
